The weather has finally moved from Winter to Spring (with Summer right around the corner) here on Cape Cod. I've been trying to find some time to get out and paint and was able to hit Chatham yesterday. I really wanted to get down to the fish pier before all the tourists get here but it looks like there are already here, at least this weekend. So I stuck around the Pleasant Bay area - with pleanty to paint around there, no biggie. I picked up alot of 6x8's this year and plan on doing alot of little studies with my mini pochade - it just makes sense timewise for me right now. I'd love to take a 20x20 out there and send a full weekday morning working on it but its really hard to find that block of time so these will be fun for the season. My hope is that I'll work up some of these in larger canvases in the future - a goal for this season.

This spot has become somewhat of a habit for me in the spring - its a great warmup for outside work. I think I've painted this spot five or so times and still enjoy the challenge of it.

I'm not even sure this is a fishing camp but its a really cool tiny cottage with a fireplace perched out on a marsh.
